How do I know which part I need to repair on my 2005 Hyundai Accent?

I have a 4 door 2005 Hyundai Accent. Any time I turn on my air conditioning or heating system on any speed (1=lowest, 4=highest), I hear a strange clicking sound. I hear the noise coming from the air vents. The noise sounds like a leaf stuck inside of the air vents and it is making a rattling sound. I have been listening to this sound for a few months now and don’t know what problem is creating this sound. I have not had the time to take my car in to an auto mechanic to have it looked at to find out what is wrong. I plan on visiting an auto parts store to purchase the correct part to solve this problem and fix it myself when I have the time. Would you be able to tell me what part I need to purchase to fix this problem please? Thank you for your help.

if air is blowing from vents something might have fallen in to vent and is hitting fan blade,if no air from vent only noise sounds like fan is no good and needs replacing.

aviation mechanic or auto tech? which pays better, most rewarding, benefits etc.?

for the next 2 years ill be going to a career school and can’t decide weather to take an aviation mechanic course or an auto tech/body repair course.
i like the idea of auto more because it’s less stressful to deal with an oil change in a car instead of worrying about the plane your working on crashing.
but is the stress worth the paycheck and benefits of being an aviation mechanic? how confusing and hard is the work?
and is the working for an airline better than other options?

Both have their up sides and their down sides. In aviation unlike automotive everything you do is by the book and you are legally responsible for every thing you do. In automotive if you screw up and the engine fails you can just pull over. In aviation you cant just pull over to the side of the road if something goes wrong. The schooling is harder and you have to pass your FAA exams before you get your certificate but if you get through it you will have your choice of places that you want to go and what you want to do. You will also have the opportunity to make more in aviation then you will working on cars.

As for working for the airlines I wouldn’t recommend it right now unless you had no other choice. With the economic situation and all the airlines going bankrupt I have heard that it is just not a good stable job with many opportunities to advance and make more money. I am personally looking at going to work in corporate aviation or for a DOD contractor.

If you have any other questions you can email me an I will answer them as best as I can.

I messed up my moms car!!! Help!!!?

Ok I was going into the garage and its small enough already and I went too fast in and scratched the right back hand door. There are various scratches on the door and many are all the way into the metal. Its not that noticeable right away but it is noticeable. I went to an auto body shop and they said it would cost 786.93 for the repair. I can pay it but its a lot of money and I don’t know what my moms deductible on her insurance is but I don’t want to tell her. She hasn’t noticed for about 5 days now surprisingly. They have to repair a dent put a new clear coat of paint and fix some scratches on the door. As you can tell I know nothing about cars so what should I do. btw I’m 18 if that figures into the equation and I live in canada.

Tell your mom. It will make things better in the end. More then likely if you tell her she won’t be as mad as she will be if she sees it and finds out that you didn’t tell her.

Maybe when you tell her what happened and tell her that you have the money to get it fixed she will help you find a better price and she will more then happy that she can trust you to tell her when you have made a mistake.

Best Suv Tires

Best Suv Tires

The sophisticated vehicles today demand for excellent performance tires. High performance tires are customized for different season. Unlike years ago when the same set of tires was used to face different challenges that come with each season, technology today evolves.

There are specific high performance tires suitable for all seasons. For example, when snow covers the road, winter tires are the perfect match. When the road you are trekking is rocky and going uphill, off-road tires are in demand. Some of the mainstream high performance tires today are bridgestone tires, firestone tires, Dunlop tires, Pirelli tires, Hankook tires, and Fuzion tires.

Before buying any of the best performance tires available in the market, better know the difference between high performance tires and other types of tires as well as their purposes. Sports cars use specific SUV tires which are considered as high performance because they are equipped for highway driving. Generally, high performance cars have softer rubber compound fit for high traction to allow you to stay on the road while making corner move at high speeds. Most experts do not recommend suv tires or traction tires under harsh weather conditions.

Winter tires are another type of car tires. Just like the high performance tires, winter tires also use softer rubber to grip the snow and ice. Moreover, they come with extra snipes in the threading that purposely increases the grip. However, winter tires are not considered Best performance tires. The sub-type of winter tires is studded which suits best the lighter vehicles to increase friction, thus, preventing the vehicle from being slipped when the weather conditions are on extremes.

If you reside on a place with roads covered with thick mud, mud tires are what your vehicle needs. This type of car tires are designed with huge chunky thread pattern to efficiently pass into muddy roads without having mud impacted into the car. With its open and large design, mud slips away from the lugs as quickly as the tires passed through. This too is not labeled as high performance tires.

Before making any purchasing moves regarding best performance tires, why not compare tires according to their brand and the reputation that comes along with it. You can do a little research on each design and purpose of high performance tires like firestone tires, good year tires and so on. Know that with each design and material come the advantages and disadvantages. Determine which advantages offer the highest leverages with the less impact with drawbacks.

If your tires are not high performance tires, they are touring tires. Touring tires provide benefits similar to all-season tires while having good handling, low noise and more comfort. On the other hand, high performance tires offers the ability to enhance handling of the car with sacrifice on noise levels and tread wear, another consideration in choosing the high performance tires.

Normally, if the tires have higher grip, they are also quick in wearing out the tread. Since high performance tires are designed exactly to have maximum grip performances, the fast wearing out of treading demands for constant replacement. Thus, experts recommend using best performance tires only when it is not winter season.

Some best performance tires are more expensive than the others. At times, being in the industry longer and having started earlier than the other manufacturers are few factors. Furthermore, additional features are used which make high performance tires unique and to stand out among its competitors.

We have the specifications on all the tires you would need. Go to Bridgestone to get some practical tires buying principles. Make your car perform better by using great tires. Check out our site at http://www.thetireclub.com .

Truck Tires Off Road

Truck Tires Off Road

There are many difficult maintenance and repair chores associated with your automobile, but tire rotation isn’t one of them … and it’s a service that clearly adds to your bottom line. If you know how to change a flat tire, then you have all the necessary skills to perform your own tire rotation.

The concept of tire rotation is simple- you swap the front tires of your car or truck with the back tires at regular intervals. By rotating your tires you increase the life of the entire set of tires. If your tires were never rotated it’s likely you would experience irregular wear in one or two tires, but by rotating at regular intervals you allow all four tires to wear out at about the same time so they can be replaced with a matching set.

Naturally, if you brought tire professionals from ten reputable tire discounters into a room and asked their opinion, you’d get ten different ideas on tire rotation. There is the opinion one should never rotate your rear tires with your front tires. Or that you should swap the front and rear left-side together, or the crossover opinion of left front to right rear and right front to left rear. Each of these opinions has its pros and cons.

There is one concept that all can agree upon. If you own a front-wheel drive vehicle the tires on the front wear twice as fast as the tires on the rear. There are several reasons for this: the drive train’s power goes though the front tires, the front tires shoulder the brunt of the cornering, and the front tires do the lion’s share of the braking.

All of this friction results in the gradual loss of tread, at a greater rate of wear on the front tires than the rear ones. For this reason, if you never rotated your tires your rear tires would only be about half worn when your front tires needed replacing. This plays into the opinion that you should never swap your front and rear tires when rotating … simply replace the front tires. However, this plan has its drawbacks. You might not be able to match to your rear tires, which will introduce different handling and traction characteristics.

Most experts agree that rotating all four tires together makes the most sense. Tire manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers and mechanics all recommend one of several rotation patterns, but the truth is it makes virtually no difference which way you rotate your tires as long as each tire divides its time equally on the front and rear of the car. The goal is to have all the tires wear equally so that all four are ready for replacement at the same time.

How often you rotate your tires is another area of wide ranging opinion, but the general consensus is to schedule a tire rotation somewhere in the range of every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. If you’re getting your brakes serviced it’s always a good idea to ask the mechanic to rotate the tires since they’re already off the car. And don’t forget to check your service contract because some tire stores include basic tire rotation as one of their benefits.

By regularly rotating your tires you promote even tread wear and reduce the chances of uneven wear and bald spots. A recent survey of 7,000 vehicles conducted by the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) uncovered the disturbing statistic that more than 11% of vehicles were riding on at least one bald tire, a dangerous driving situation for both the vehicle’s owner and the others sharing that road. Scheduled tire rotation will lessen the chance of this situation occurring on your vehicle, and at the very least provides you, or a trained technician from a reputable tire discounter, an opportunity to get a close visual inspection of your tires and identify a potential hazardous situation before it becomes a road hazard.
